Heat owner Micky Arison to one day retire Dwyane Wade's No. 3

Arison writes letter to Heat fans

MIAMI – Heat owner Micky Arison wrote a letter to Miami Heat fans Thursday night, which coincided with the announcement of the new schedule for the upcoming season.

In the letter, Arison wrote, "obviously, this has been a challenging summer... one with significant change.

For the first time in a long time, Dwyane Wade will not be part of our team, but it will be a joyous homecoming when we someday hang his No. 3 jersey from the rafters of AmericanAirlines Arena."

Arison's message to fans included stating that despite major changes this summer the Heat is still "a Championship organization" and they will continue being the "nastiest team in the NBA."

Arison ended his letter by writing, "I'm excited about this team and I'm confident you will enjoy watching us play this season."
