Dolphins add wide receiver Justin Hunter off waivers, sign 9 others to practice squad

Move could signal concern for DeVante Parker's status

DAVIE, Fla. – The Dolphins made a move Sunday, officially claiming former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter on waivers, that would help them add depth in the receiving corps in case DeVante Parker is not healthy for the regular-season opener.

The Miami Herald reported that a hamstring injury could force Parker to sit in Seattle on week one.

Hunter was a 2013 second-round pick for Tennessee, where he worked with current Dolphins receivers coach Shawn Jefferson.

The Dolphins also announced the signing of nine players to their practice squad, including former Hurricanes wide receiver Rashawn Scott.

The remaining players signed to the practice squad:

LB James Burgess

G Jamil Douglas

TE Thomas Duarte

S A.J. Hendy

T Ulrick John

DE Cleyon Laing

CB Lafayette Pitts

DE Jordan Williams
