2 defensive players for Hurricanes out against FAU because of injuries

Defensive back Adrian Colbert, defensive lineman Courtel Jenkins sidelined

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Two defensive players for the University of Miami Hurricanes will miss Saturday's game against Florida Atlantic because of injuries.

The team announced Thursday that redshirt senior defensive back Adrian Colbert and junior defensive lineman Courtel Jenkins suffered "lower extremity injuries" and won't play in Saturday's game against the Owls.

Colbert and Jenkins are under the care of team physician Dr. Lee Kaplan.

Miami's defense has been hampered by injuries, suspensions and dismissals.

Freshman linebacker Jamie Gordinier suffered a season-ending knee injury in last weekend's 70-3 win against Florida A&M.

Sophomore defensive lineman Gerald Willis was suspended last weekend for a violation of team rules.

Redshirt junior defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad and senior linebacker Jermaine Grace were kicked off the team last month for violating NCAA rules.
