MIAMI – The Miami Marlins debuted the patch that players will wear on their uniforms to honor the late Jose Fernandez throughout the upcoming season.
The team unveiled a black circle patch with Fernandez's number 16 during an event Friday morning. The patch will born worn over the left chest of the uniform.

Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton wore a jersey featuring the patch while speaking with the media.
Fernandez, and 2 others, died in a boating accident off Miami Beach in September.
