Heat center has hand injury

Hassan Whiteside had 13 stitches after hurting his hand in the 4th quarter

MIAMI – Hassan Whiteside is planning on playing.

According to the Heat, Whiteside went through shootaround Thursday morning, ahead of Miami's game against the Toronto Raptors.

The team said via twitter that Whiteside, "was a full participant in morning shootaround and still intends to play tonight."

Whiteside received 13 stitches to his shooting hand after hitting it under the basket against the Suns.

Whiteside's injury happened late in the 4th quarter.

Guard Dion Waiters remains out with an ankle injury.

The Heat enter the night holding the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference.

This is the final game of a 5-game homestand.
