Volquez named Marlins opening day starter

Fish open season in Washington

JUPITER, Fla. – Edinson Volquez will  open the season on the mound for the Miami Marlins.

Don Mattingly named Volquez as the team's opening day starter on Friday.

The Marlins open the season April 3 in Washington.

Dan Straily and Tom Koehler are the Marlins No. 2 and 3 starters.

The fish announced that Wei-Yin Chen will start the team's fourth game of the season.

The Marlins have not named a No. 5 starter.

The Marlins are trying to fill the gap left by the death of ace Jose Fernandez.
