Hurricanes to face Ivy League champions in Hoophall Miami Invitational

Miami men's basketball team to play Princeton at AmericanAirlines Arena

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men's basketball team will face Princeton next season in the third annual Hoophall Miami Invitational at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami announced its participation in the Dec. 2 event Wednesday.

The Hurricanes will take on the defending Ivy League champions from Princeton.

"We are very excited to be playing in the Hoophall Miami Invitational downtown at AmericanAirlines Arena for the second straight season," Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga said in a statement. "Hurricanes fans can look forward to getting an early look at our 2017-18 team, which will have seven returners and four newcomers on the roster."

Both teams made it to the NCAA tournament this year. The Hurricanes lost to Michigan State in the first round, while the Tigers fell to Notre Dame in the opening round.

Miami defeated Wofford 74-57 in last year's Hoophall Miami Invitational, which is played at the home of the Miami Heat.

The one-day doubleheader event will also pit traditional powers Syracuse against Kansas.
