Marlins get pounded by Pirates 12-2
Fish open homestand with a dud
MIAMI – The Marlins opened a five game homestand on Friday with a rough game against the Pirates who cruised to a 12-2 win.
Adam Conley surrendered 9 earned runs in the loss, eight of those runs coming in the decisive second inning.
Conley lasted only 1 2/3rd innings as manager Don Mattingly pulled him out of the game after the Pirates had taken an eight-nothing lead.
The loss drops the Fish one game under .500 (10-11).
