Marlins pitcher Adam Conley leaves the game Friday night after a disastrous eight-run second inning by the Pirates.

MIAMI – The Marlins opened a five game homestand on Friday with a rough game against the Pirates who cruised to a 12-2 win.

Adam Conley surrendered 9 earned runs in the loss, eight of those runs coming in the decisive second inning.

Conley lasted only 1 2/3rd innings as manager Don Mattingly pulled him out of the game after the Pirates had taken an eight-nothing lead.

The loss drops the Fish one game under .500 (10-11).
