Soccer fans outraged over hefty prices for El Clasico Miami

Barcelona, Real Madrid exhibition to take place July 29 at Hard Rock Stadium

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Soccer fans who have yet to purchase tickets to El Clasico Miami this summer are warned that they had better be prepared to pay.

Many people are upset about the high prices for tickets to the exhibition game, and some are getting forced to find creative ways to attend.

The match between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place July 29 at Hard Rock Stadium.

"To have the greatest players in the world, like Messi and Ronaldo, here playing will be fantastic," Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium president and CEO Tom Garfinkel said.

The South Florida match is the first time Real Madrid and Barcelona will face off outside Spain since 1982.

It's an exhibition match, but the seats won't come cheap. Prices range from $500 in the upper level to more than $3,500 per ticket.

Some fans feel that they've been priced out.

One person tweeted a photo of prices, saying: "Can't believe this. #nomas."

"I do have the tickets. It cost me $2,900 for two seats," one man said.

The Miami man, who did not want to be identified, said he can't attend the game because of personal reasons, so he thought up a creative way to sell his tickets.

"I get $65. You come over here (and) pick a number," he said.

Instead of selling the tickets online, the man said he wanted to sell 100 raffle coins so someone could win the chance to see stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in person.

"At least it's the opportunity to get two seats for $65," he said.

The only problem: It's not legal.

"He has what he thinks is a good idea, but he's not going about it the right way," attorney David Weinstein said.

Weinstein said it's a second-degree felony for a private citizen to hold a raffle for profit.

"There are only two organizations that are allowed to conduct lottos or raffles in the state of Florida," Weinstein said. "One of them is the Florida Lottery."

El Clasico will begin at 7:30 p.m. July 29.
