MIAMI – The Miami Heat have signed free agent Kelly Olynyk, per multiple reports.
Olynyk's agent broke the news to ESPN on Thursday night. The Gonzaga University product played four seasons with the Boston Celtics. The seven-footer averaged 9 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game last season.
Olynyk appeared to have confirmed the deal with the Heat on Twitter Thursday night by tweeting an emoji of a smiley face with sunglasses and a palm tree.
ESPN reported Olynyk gets a four-year contract worth $50 million.
The Associated Press confirmed the agreement with Olynyk's agent Greg Lawrence.
