MIAMI – Florida International will welcome Miami native Frank Martin back to South Florida when the Panthers host South Carolina next month.
The men's basketball team announced its 2017-18 schedule Wednesday, which is highlighted by a Nov. 27 nonconference game against Martin's Gamecocks.
Martin, who led South Carolina to the Final Four last season, is a 1993 graduate of FIU.
Two other NCAA tournament teams, Florida Gulf Coast and Middle Tennessee, will also visit the Ocean Bank Convocation Center this season.
The Panthers open their season Nov. 10 at home against Florida Memorial. They'll host Stetson two days later.
FIU will visit South Florida on Dec. 11 in Tampa and North Florida on Dec. 13 in Jacksonville.
The Panthers will open Conference USA play Dec. 30 against rival Florida Atlantic. They'll also face the Owls on Feb. 27 at FAU Arena in Boca Raton.
