DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – The Clemson Tigers are No. 1 in the final College Football Playoff poll.

Clemson (12-1) will face No. 4 Alabama (11-1) in the Sugar Bowl.

The Tigers have faced Alabama in each of the past three seasons.

Alabama beat Clemson to win the 2015 title, while the Tigers knocked off the Crimson Tide in last season's national championship game.

No. 2 Oklahoma (12-1) and No. 3 Georgia (12-1) round out the top four teams. The Sooners will face the Bulldogs in the Rose Bowl for a right to take on the winner of Clemson-Alabama in the national championship game in Atlanta.

Alabama is the only team to earn a spot in every College Football Playoff since the format began during the 2014 season.

The Sooners defeated TCU 41-17 to win the Big 12 Conference championship, while the Bulldogs avenged their lone loss of the season with a 28-7 win against Auburn to claim the Southeastern Conference championship.

No. 5 Ohio State (11-2) was left out of the playoff despite winning the Big Ten Conference championship.

This is the first time two teams from the same conference made the playoff.
