Here's who signed with Seminoles during early signing period

Seminoles try to reload after streak of 41 winning seasons, 36 bowl games ends

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ā€“ Florida State head coach Willie Taggart hit the road recruiting the day after the Seminoles ended their season with a 41-14 loss to rival Florida.

What else was he going to do?

The Seminoles are looking to get back to their winning ways after a 5-7 finish to the 2018 season -- ending a streak of 41 consecutive winning seasons and 36Ā straight bowl appearances.

Taggart picked up 14 recruits on the first day of the early signing period Wednesday, included three offensive lineman. It's a position that was subjected to much scrutiny in 2018.

Perhaps the most glaring piece of the puzzle for the Seminoles heading into 2019 is who didn't sign with them.

The Seminoles lost out on four-star quarterbackĀ commit Sam Howell, who had reportedly softened on FSU after offensive coordinator Walt Bell left to become head coach atĀ UMass.

Instead, the North Carolina nativeĀ elected to stay close to home and play for new coach Mack Brown at UNC. That leaves the Seminoles without a quarterback in the 2019 class, although there's still a chance to snag one in February.

Also noticeably absent was coveted cornerback Akeem Dent. The five-star recruit from Palm Beach Central High School has verbally committed to FSU but said earlier this month that he wasn't going to sign early.

Here's a look at the recruits who have signed national letters of intent with the Seminoles:
