Bucket on ice saves Swiss hockey game from drip

Weird solution captured in social media photos

Rather than cancel a Swiss preseason hockey game when water started dripping on the ice, officials instead just put a bucket on the ice.

Photos on social media captured the weird scene recently, with what appears to be an industrial garbage can set up to the right of and slightly behind the net on one end of the ice.

European hockey scout Dennis Schellenberg was one of several to share photos, noting that it was "not an everyday scene" and adding the hashtag #onlyinpreseason.

The do-it-yourself solution appeared to make the ice conditions a bit safer as the game went on.

Hockey fans had a good laugh on Twitter in response to the situation, with some calling for their favorite team to sign the bucket as a new prospect.
