Hurricanes schedule home-and-home series with Temple

Miami to host Owls in 2020, travel to Philadelphia in 2023

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami is going retro with its latest non-conference opponent.

The Hurricanes announced Thursday that they've agreed to a home-and-home series with Temple in 2020 and 2023.

Miami will host the Owls at Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 5, 2020, and travel to Philadelphia to face Temple on Sept. 23, 2023.

The Hurricanes, who lead the all-time series 13-1, haven't played Temple since 2005, when the teams were members of the old Big East Conference.

Miami and Temple met for 12 consecutive years from 1992-03 as conference opponents, with Miami winning every game.

Temple's lone victory against Miami was the very first -- a 34-0 shutout in 1930.

The Hurricanes beat Temple 34-3 in their last meeting in 2005.

Miami recently announced that it will host Central Michigan in 2019. The Hurricanes also have future non-conference games scheduled with Louisiana State (2018), Florida (2019), Michigan State (2020-21) and Texas A&M (2022-23).
