Seminoles to star in Showtime series

'A Season with Florida State Football' to premiere Sept. 6

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – It's Showtime for the Seminoles.

The premium cable channel announced Tuesday that it will chronicle the Florida State football team in an all-access documentary series called "A Season with Florida State Football."

The 30-minute, 14-episode series will air each Tuesday beginning Sept. 6 at 10 p.m., one day after Florida State's nationally televised season opener against Mississippi on Labor Day evening.

"We are very excited to partner with Showtime this season and eager to give college football fans a unique look into our program," head coach Jimbo Fisher said in a statement. "At Florida State, we have a tremendous family atmosphere, and we are looking forward to showcasing what makes FSU football special."

The Seminoles are expected to vie for a spot in the four-team College Football Playoff in 2016.

Production has already begun in Tallahassee.

The series debuted last year with a glimpse inside the Notre Dame football program.
