MIAMI – The Miami Heat will honor the late Jose Fernandez before Tuesday night's preseason game vs. Brooklyn at the American Airlines Arena.
During pregame warm-ups, players will wear shooting shirts with Fernandez's No. 16 and JDF initials.

Fernandez and two others were killed Sept. 25 when their boat hit a jetty off Miami Beach.
A star with the Marlins, Fernandez was a fan of other South Florida teams and was often seen at Heat games.
The Miami Hurricanes honored the former Marlins pitcher with a helmet sticker during their win over Georgia Tech.
