SUNRISE, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes running back Jordan Lyle was arrested Thursday on a warrant from the Sunrise Police Department, the Broward State Attorney’s Office confirmed Friday to Local 10 News.
According to the SAO, Lyle, 20, was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding at a high speed and reckless driving.
He was released the same day as his arrest after posting a $55,000 bond, prosecutors said.
A spokesperson for the University of Miami told Local 10 News in an email, “We are aware of an incident involving student-athlete Jordan Lyle. As due legal process runs its course, we will have no further comment at this time.”
The Fort Lauderdale native got the start at running back in the 2025 season opening win against Notre Dame, but he wouldn’t make it through the entire game after suffering a leg injury that eventually sidelined him for most of the season.
In the six games he played, Lyle carried the ball 35 times for 108 yards and scored his lone touchdown of the season against Stanford.
Despite the injury and being part of a crowded running back room with Mark Fletcher Jr., Marty Brown and Girard Pringle Jr., Lyle decided to return to the Hurricanes and compete for his spot.
No other details about his arrest were immediately released.
