In the deal, the Marlins will receive right-handed pitcher Nick Neidhart, infielder Christopher Torres and right-handed pitcher Robert Dugger. The Mariners will receive international signing bonus pool money in addition to Gordon.
Neidhart, 21, was rated the No. 2 prospect in the Mariners' farm system last year, spending the majority of the season at Single-A. In 19 starts with Modesto, Neidhart went 10-3 with a 2.76 ERA.
Torres was rated the Mariners' seventh-best prospect.
Former Major League Baseball general manager Jim Bowden reports Gordon will play centerfield for a Seattle team already loaded at second base.
Gordon was due $37 million over the next three seasons, with a team option in 2021.
In three seasons with the Marlins, Gordon hit .309 with 23 triples and 148 stolen bases.
