LITTLE HAVANA, Fla. – The Miami Marlins have high hopes for Casey Michael McGehee this season. 

McGehee, 31, is likely to be named the comeback player of the year, experts said.

In December, the team signed McGehee to a $1.1 million contract.

His career has taken some twists and turns. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Chicago Cubs, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the New York Yankees.

McGehee was born in Santa Cruz, California. He and his wife Sarah McGehee have a son named Mackail, who has cerebral palsy, and a daughter named Cooper Reese, the OnMilwaukee.com reported.

Last year in Japan, the corner infielder recorded 27 home runs. This season he will be the Miami Marlins third infielder.
