Shane Battier gets aggressive with Zach Randolph on the court.

MIAMI - Heat forward Shane Battier picked up a big award.

Battier was selected for the 2013 Magic Johnson Award.

It is given by the Pro Basketball Writers Association to a player who combines excellence on the court with cooperation with media and fans.

Battier is the first Heat player to pick up the honor.

He beat out 12 finalists including teammates Ray Allen and LeBron James.
