In addition, Miami needs either Atlanta to beat Indiana or Brooklyn to beat Chicago.

However, the Hawks and Nets both appear to be throwing in the towel.

The Hawks injury report includes the following players as out:  Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard, Kent Bazemore, Dennis Schroder, and Tim Hardaway Jr.

The Nets are resting: Trevor Booker, Jeremy Lin, Brooks Lopez, Quincy Acy, Joe Harris. and Sean Kilpatrick.

The Hawks have already clinched a playoff spot.

The Nets reason for resting players is unclear.

The Heat started the season 11-30.

If Miami beats Washington, they will finish the season 30-11 and with a 41-41 record.

The Heat will need a miraculous performance from players deep on the benches of Brooklyn or Atlanta to get into the playoffs.

Anything is possible.
