Artie Burns arrested in Miami Beach for driving with suspended license, police say

Steelers cornerback, 22, played for Hurricanes, Miami Northwestern

Former University of Miami Hurricanes and current Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns was arrested Thursday night in Miami Beach.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns was arrested Thursday night in Miami Beach for driving with a suspended license, police said.

According to a Miami Beach police report, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Alton Road after noticing that the Cadillac Escalade had an expired license plate tag.

Police said Burns, 22, didn't have a driver's license. A records check revealed that Burns' license had been suspended.

The former first-round draft pick was handcuffed and taken to jail.

Burns played for the University of Miami Hurricanes from 2013-15 and graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School. He was the 25th overall pick by the Steelers in the 2016 NFL Draft.
