In the video, a man who a Facebook user claimedĀ is Foerster, is seen snorting a white powder substance.

"I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions," Foerster said in a statement. "I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals."

The Dolphins also released a statement Monday morning, saying that the organization will help FoersterĀ receive the proper treatment that he needs.

"We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior," the statement said. "After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time."

Dolphins head coach Adam GaseĀ spoke at a news conference Monday morning and said that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has been briefed about the incident.

Gase said FoersterĀ apologized to him about the situation.Ā

"It's not a good situation,"Ā Gase said. "Things happen that you don't anticipate. It's not fun, especially when you're close with somebody."

Gase said FoersterĀ is "disappointed"Ā in himself.Ā

"He's upset, he's mad at himself -- it's unfortunate,"Ā Gase said.

Gase said he hadn't yet spoken with the team, and wouldn't disclose whether he met in person with FoersterĀ when he received his resignation.

"I'll keep the details of what happened in house,"Ā he said.Ā

Dolphins officials would not comment on where or when the video was taken.Ā

In addition to his current troubles, FoersterĀ is reportedly deep in debt.

The Miami Herald reports FoersterĀ owes more than $600,000 in back taxes going back to 2012. Two liens have been placed upon his home in St. Petersburg.

FoersterĀ is a longtime NFL assistant coach who joined the Dolphins afterĀ Gase was hired in 2016. He previously served as Miami's offensive coordinator in 2004.
