Dolphins hire Dave DeGuglielmo as senior offensive assistant

Team announces hiring 2 days after Chris Foerster resigns

DAVIE, Fla. ā€“ The Miami Dolphins have hired Dave DeGuglielmo as a senior offensive assistant.

DeGuglielmo returns to Miami after spending three seasons as the offensive line coach under former head coach Tony Sparano.

His hiring Wednesday comes two days after offensive line coach Chris Foerster resigned. A video leaked on the internet appeared to show Foerster snorting cocaine.

Kijuana Nig'e told a Las Vegas television station that she released the video to bring attention to the "inequalities" in the NFL.

DeGuglielmo has spent 12 years as an NFL coach and 13 years as a college coach, winning two Super Bowl rings with the New York Giants and New England Patriots.

He most recently served as an assistant offensive line coach for the San Diego Chargers last season. He also spent two seasons with the Patriots (2014-15), New York Jets (2012) and Giants (2004-08).

Previous college coaching stops include South Carolina (1999-2003), Connecticut (1997-98), Boston University (1993-96) and Boston College (1991-92), where he served as a graduate assistant under former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.
