Dolphins suspended Lawrence Timmons indefinitely

Veteran disappears before season opener

DAVIE, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins have suspended linebacker Lawrence Timmons indefinitely.

Timmons went AWOL from the team's hotel on Saturday ahead of the opener in Los Angeles.

The Dolphins reported Sunday morning that they knew where Timmons was, but that his status for the game was uncertain.

Timmons reportedly went to the airport in Los Angeles and was dealing with personal problems. He did not play in the Dolphins' 19-17 win over the Chargers.

When asked about Timmons on Monday, head coach Adam Gase would not comment specifically.

The team made a decision about disciplinary action just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
