ESPN: RG III will undergo knee surgery Wednesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Bad news for Washington Redskins and NFL fans in general.

ESPN is reporting that Robert Griffin III will undergo total reconstruction surgery on his damaged in right knee on Wednesday.

ESPN reported that famed orthopedic specialist James Andrews will perform the surgery to fix Griffin III's torn ACL and LCL in his knee.

The team is still hopeful that the rookie star quarterback will be ready for the start of the 2013 season.

They project recovery time from this type of surgery to be between 6 and 8 months.
