Seminoles beat Hurricanes 33-20

Hurricanes can't hang on after jumping out to early lead

MIAMI - The Hurricanes jumped out to early lead over Florida State, but couldn't hold on as the Seminoles beat Miami 33-20  Saturday night at Sun Life Stadium. The Hurricanes led 10-0 in the first quarter after a Mike James 9-yard touchdown and Jake Weiclaw 19-yard field goal.

Stephen Morris played for Miami despite an injured ankle. But the Hurricanes QB was ineffective for most of the game finishing with 223 yards passing. He had one touchdown and one interception. 

Former Miami Central High School running back Devonta Freeman scored two touchdowns for Florida state. He finished with 70 yards on 10 carries.
