Serena Williams cited $281 for speeding in Palm Beach County

FHP ticket says tennis star was driving 86 mph in 65 mph zone

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Tennis star Serena Williams has been cited for speeding in Palm Beach County.

The Florida Highway Patrol on Saturday issued Williams a speeding ticket in the amount of $281.

According to the citation, Williams was traveling 86 mph in a 65 mph zone at 7:17 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near 45th Street. The citation states that Williams was alone in her 2016 Mini Cooper 4D.

The seven-time Wimbledon winner lives in Palm Beach Gardens and recently gave birth to a baby girl.

Her sister, Venus Williams, was involved in a June crash that killed a 78-year-old man.
