Nicole Lopez-Alvar
Digital Journalist
Nicole Lopez-Alvar is a Miami-born and raised journalist and TV personality covering South Florida and beyond for Local10.com. With a Bachelor of Science in Communication degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami School of Communication, Nicole began her career working as a digital journalist for WSVN-7 News in 2015. There, she developed her skill of writing breaking news and discovering trending stories with a local beat. She later became an arts and culture contributing writer for the Miami New Times, where she took on in-depth feature pieces and truly fell in love with journalism. Not afraid to embark on endeavors outside of her comfort zone, Lopez-Alvar later became a contestant on ABC’s “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise,” where she was given the rare opportunity to gain first-hand experience in television production and the world of media. Throughout 2019 and 2020, she flew across the country as a television personality and full-time social media content creator, where she attended events such as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., to co-hosting a “Good Morning America” segment in New York City alongside Michael Strahan, Keke Palmer, and Sara Haines. Lopez-Alvar is also on the pulse regarding all aspects of social media. She’s worked in content creation and even developed a caption-generating app for iPhone called “CapGenius.” Nicole is a major foodie, animal lover, and is always on the lookout for the hottest new restaurants in town. She also has a passion for using her platform to advocate for causes she believes in, especially women’s rights and autism awareness, and is always finding ways to give back to her community.
