Conference schedule includes 8 sessions on social impact of new media

MIAMI – With dozens of sessions, navigating the Social Media Week Miami 5-day conference schedule can be challenging. 

The Local 10 News guide divides the long list into topics ranging from expertise on developing marketing strategies to sessions on workshops for digital media managers

These sessions will help participants explore the impact and influence of social media in society:

1. DIPLOMACY  - 2 p.m., Sept. 14: The "Sea Level Rise, Oranges and Mickey - Public Diplomacy in 140 Characters" session is  an hour with foreign consul generals. They will discuss their use of social media to exert influence. 

2. PROMOTING HEALTH & FITNESS- 11:15 a.m., Sept. 15: Carlos Anaya and Gabriela Sabate talk about the booming health and fitness mobile app market during the "Combining Tech and Personal Coaching to Improve Our Lives" discussion. 

3. WORLD OF FASHION - 2 p.m., Sept. 15:  James Brown and Sandy Kacura will speak during the "From Wearable Tech to 3D Printing: How Technology is Changing the World of Fashion" session. 

4. LAW ENFORCEMENT - 2 p.m., Sept. 15: Ryan A. Bell, Lizza Monet Morales, Sandra Sparks and Victor Williams, of ICE, talk about "Social Media and Technology in the Fight Against Child Trafficking."

5. FAMILY DYNAMIC - 3:15 p.m., Sept. 15:  Nora Kurtin, Ernesto Sosa and Viviana Vethencourt will speak during the "Embracing Tech in the Family: How Technology is Changing Family Dynamics and How to Manage Change" session. 

6. SPORTS FANS - 4:30 p.m., Sept. 15: Alex Buznego, of the Miami Marlins, Vincent Pannozzo, of the Miami Dolphins and Grant Stern will speak during the "The Evolution of the Sports Fan Experience Powered by Technology" session. 

7. COMMUNICATION - 11:15 a.m., Sept. 16: Scott Nelson, of Viber, will talk during "The Evolution of Communication: How New Technologies Are Changing the Way We Communicate" session. 

8. iGENERATION - 3:15 p.m., Sept. 16: Manuel Delgado, of Agua Marketing, will speak during "The iGeneration: A Peek Into the Lives of the Most Revolutionary Generation in U.S. History" session.
