Disney unveils giant model of new Star Wars Land set for Disney World

New themed land to debut at Walt Disney World, Disneyland in 2019

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Why wait?  Disney might as well take all our money right now.

Whether you are a fan of Disney, Star Wars or theme parks in general, last night's unveiling was something to get truly excited about.

With the company's D23 Expo set for this weekend in Anaheim, Disney debuted a massive model detailing the new Star Wars-themed lands set to open at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2019.

“This is the most ambitious land we’ve built to date,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Co. Parks and Resorts.

Inside the 50-foot model, Star Wars fans will recognize the Millennium Falcon, which is the launching pad for one of the land's E-Ticket attractions where guests will be at the controls of the series' famed ship.

Disney Blogs reports the 14-acre land's other major attraction will put guests "in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance."

From the buildings to the rocky landscape, the land showcases a variety of different locations from the Star Wars movies. High-quality engagement with characters will allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the universe of the movies.

Disney's Hollywood Studios will be the home of the Star Wars land at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
