The driver was among the 13 killed in the SUV, from Tuesday’s collision in California’s Imperial Valley, a farming region that produces many of the winter vegetables sold in U.S. supermarkets. The oldest was a 46-year-old woman from Guatemala City, also with major injuries. The Border Patrol said surveillance video showed the Expedition and a Chevrolet Suburban drive through an opening in the border wall about 30 miles (48 kilometers) east of the crash. The Expedition soon struck the tractor-trailer, whose driver, a 68-year-old man from El Centro, suffered major injuries.

Woman impaled by metal bar that fell off truck
SACRAMENTO, California (CNN) - A woman in California is recovering after being impaled in the leg by a large metal bar that fell off a big truck while traveling on the highway, according to officials. The unnamed victim was riding in a car on Highway 99 in Sacramento on Saturday, when the metal bar fell off of the truck in front of them, authorities said. "The metal bar then bounced up and entered the right front of the Chevy, traveled through the engine compartment and entered the passenger compartment of the Chevy and impaled the right leg of the right front passenger," the California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento division said in a statement. First responders freed the woman from the car and she was transported to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition. CHP says the truck did not stop after the metal bar fell off, and authorities are seeking any information in the case.
Skydiver killed in crash with big rig trailer
Conditions were windy as a skydiver crashed into a semi and died, authorities said. LODI, Calif. - A skydiver was killed after she hit a big rig trailer and crash-landed on a Northern California highway outside an airport. The 28-year-old woman was skydiving with a group of seven people around 2 p.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol PIO Ruben Jones told CNN. Then, she hit the right-hand shoulder of the road, the California Highway Patrol said in a Facebook post. "The way the person was struggling, just struggling against the wind and their body was just moving really, really fast," she told the station.
Kevin Hart's wife says he's 'going to be just fine' after car crash

Clown with prop chain saw leads police on Calif. chase

Officers quickly caught up with the BMW and tried to pull it over, but the driver fled, officials said. The driver led officers on a chase at speeds of more than 70 mph before transitioning to the 90 Freeway, then headed toward Venice Beach on surface streets. "A search of the BMW revealed the chainsaw was a toy prop," the statement said.
