Former Hurricanes sign NFL deals as undrafted free agents
While only one former Hurricane (defensive lineman Jon Ford in the seventh round) was selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, the lowest number of Miami football players chosen since 1980, numerous draft-eligible Canes have signed deals with NFL teams as undrafted free agents. King threw for 3,453 yards and ran for 634 yards in his two seasons with the Hurricanes. Sticking with the wide-receiver position, record-setters Charleston Rambo and Mike Harley Jr. signed with the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns, respectively. Defensive backs Amari Carter and Bubba Bolden reached contractual agreements with the Chicago Bears and the Seattle Seahawks, respectively. Of the former Hurricanes who were draft-eligible, only running back Cam’Ron Harris has yet to either sign with an NFL franchise or accept a rookie minicamp offer.

With the 234th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Ford, 6-foot-5, 338-pound native of Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, protecting a 48-year-old streak of Miami draft picks dating back to 1975. The Packers’ seventh-round draft choice marked the first and only Hurricane drafted this year. Recording each of his three career tackles in 2019 and four solo tackles last season, Ford brings near-boundless size to a Green Bay defense. Kenny Clark, a six-year veteran for the Packers, maintains the starting role at nose tackle after logging 48 combined tackles last season.

Rattler's 4 TD passes lead No. 5 Oklahoma past Missouri St.
5 Oklahoma rolled past Missouri State 48-0 on Saturday night. Rattler, the highly touted redshirt freshman from Phoenix, only played the first two quarters and helped the Sooners take a 41-0 lead. The Sooners led 31-0 at the end of the first quarter and outgained the Bears 236 yards to 1. The Sooners held Missouri State to 136 yards and seven first downs in their first shutout since 2015. He took over a Missouri State program that went 1-10 last season.
