Despite COVID-19, Dor Chadash holds safe, festive Purim event
Congregation Dor Chadash, one of Kendall’s most active synagogues, recently conducted a Purim “festival” to celebrate the centuries old “feast of lots” commemorating the survival of Jews in ancient Persia. Complete with costumes, balloons, dancers, giant bubbles and laughing children, the live, socially safe, gathering was the brainchild of Lori Drutz Tabachnikoff, wife of Dor Chadash Rabbi Jonathan Tabachnikoff. “This was the first time many of our members have seen each other in over a year,” Drutz Tabachnikoff said. I think we accomplished that.”Congregants gathered in the business parking lot of Dor Chadash president Carol Price to participate in the variety of songs, contests and a costume party. COVID won’t stop us from moving forward.”For additional information on Congregation Dor Chadash, phone 305-595-3008.
