South Florida doctor dies from new coronavirus, medical examiner confirms
MARGATE, Fla. – A medical examiner has confirmed that a South Florida doctor died Wednesday night from complications related to the new coronavirus, Local 10 News learned Thursday. The Broward County Office of Medical Examiner and Trauma Services listed Dr. Alex Hsu’s cause of death as COVID-19 and listed the manner of death as natural. Hsu’s sharecare profile states that he was affiliated with Northwest Medical Center. Hsu, a well-respected member of the medical community, was an active medical staff member at Northwest Medical Center from 1995-2017,” a statement from Northwest Medical Center read. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is believed to spread mainly from person to person.
