Local Rotarians among those recognized at conference
On July 24, during the three-day Rotary District 6990 Conference in Orlando, seven Rotarians were inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame: Fred Anderson, Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale; Ligia Corredor, Rotary Club of Miramar Pines; Maria Kesti, Rotary Club of Perrine Cutler Ridge/Palmetto Bay; Bob Menconi, Rotary Club of Davie Cooper City; Jim Norton, Rotary Club of Weston; Robin Shelley, Rotary Club of Miami, and Marcy Ullom, Rotary Club of Miami Brickell, Passport. Also, recognized were 24 finalists including South Miami Rotarians Michael Newman and Roy Gonas, and Coral Gables Rotarian Yolanda Woodbridge. Speaking of Rotary, on July 7 the Rotary Club of Coral Gables held their annual installation luncheon during which Ana Fournaris and her new board were sworn into office at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Michael Kesti, RI District 6990 governor, was on hand to officiate over the swearing in of the officers and board. Speaking of great shows, country western fans will not want to miss the show running through July 31 at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables.
