HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police are conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered Monday afternoon inside a home. Sky 10 was above the 5600 block of Fletcher Street around 2:30 p.m. as police blocked off the front of the home with crime scene tape. Police: 1 dead after neighborhood dispute leads to gunfire in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Investigators were combing through a crime scene in a Hollywood neighborhood and trying to piece together what exactly happened Sunday afternoon that left one man dead. The Hollywood Police Department said that through their investigation they determined that the shooting evolved out of a dispute between neighbors. At 1:24 p.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Taft Street in reference to a shooting, where they found a man injured from a gunshot wound, according to Hollywood police. A Local 10 News crew was at the scene after the incident and saw a woman being taken out of a home on a gurney. She was then transported to a hospital, but it was unclear what her involvement or injuries were in connection with the shooting.
Officers search for person of interest after fatal shooting in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The Hollywood Police Department released the picture of a man saying detectives want to question him about a shooting that left a man dead on Wednesday in downtown Hollywood. The crime scene was along Hollywood Boulevard at South 19th Avenue, near Young Circle Park. Detectives did not release the victim’s identity. Woman arrested in connection with fatal shooting of man in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A 30-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday by US marshals and detectives from the Hollywood Police Department in connection with the fatal shooting of a man that occurred last week. According to authorities, Hollywood police officers responded to a 911 call about the shooting just after 8 p.m. Oct. 20 at an apartment complex in the 6700 block of Johnson Street. Police said the victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the parking lot. Police said the suspect, Nikita Darisier, was taken into custody in Oakland Park. Police said she acted alone, but they have not disclosed a possible motive or the relationship between Darisier and the victim.
Man fatally shot at Hyde Resort in Hollywood, police say
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. The Hollywood Police Department is asking for the publics help in finding out who shot a man last week at the Hyde Resort. The shooting occurred after 2:40 a.m. June 8 at the hotel at 4111 S. Ocean Drive. According to Hollywood police, several people were attending a party at the hotel prior to the shooting. The victim underwent surgery, but ultimately died from his injuries. Hollywood officers in Bigs in Blue program honor mentees with parade, gifts
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. Nine-year-old Hanniyah is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a non-profit organization that supports one-to-one mentoring relationships for children who are at risk of losing their way. The organization runs the Bigs in Blue program, which turns police officers into mentors. Dozens of Hollywood Police Department officers met with mentees at the parking lot of the Sheridan Street Tri-Rail Station. I liked that they smiled and they waved.Ana Cedeo, the President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County said the police officers came up with the idea of the parade and outdoor meeting. After the parade, Hanniyahs mentor, Lt. Selina Hightower, and the other officers gave their mentees a little gift bag and time to chat.
Fugitive in fatal shooting in Hollywood surrenders, police say
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A murder suspect surrendered to authorities Saturday, the Hollywood Police Department announced Tuesday. Jovon Warner, 38, is accused of running away after fatally shooting Michael Richardson on Thursday in the Liberia neighborhood, according to Officer Christian Lata, a spokesman for the department. Police are investigating a fatal shooting in a Hollywood neighborhood. Detectives believe Warner planned Richardson’s fatal shooting. "Antonio Brown had a relationship with the Hollywood Police Department Police Athletic League for a number of years” Officer Christian Lata said in the statement. Throughout the video, Brown can be heard shouting profanities at Kyriss and officers. “Needless to say, we were very disappointed in the actions of Mr. Brown,” Lata said. “We did not want our youth to be subject to this type of behavior nor emulate the actions of Mr. Brown,” Lata said.
Pole falls on home with woman inside
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - A garbage truck hit a power pole Monday morning, knocking it over on top of a home, police said. The Hollywood Police Department alerted residents of possible power outages near Harrison Street and A1A where the accident took place. The pole landed directly on Spoerl's house while she was inside. Florida Power & Light was called to the scene to restore power to those affected. As of Monday night, workers were trying to restore power to a parking garage across the street from the home.

According to police officials, a truck hit a power pole, knocking it over and landing on top of a residence. HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The Hollywood Police Department has identified and located the three women officers were previously seeking in connection with a deadly shooting. "We hope to continue having a professional working relationship with our local media outlets to better serve our community," Hollywood police Officer Christian Lata said in an email. Lata said the women may have information or may have witnessed something related to the shooting as they left the building behind the victim. Ramona Miller said her son Jaydon Stubbs and his two friends tried to get away from police officers because he was afraid. Jaydon said a police officer was trying to stop him and his friends for doing wheelies on their bicycles while riding on Hollywood Boulevard. As for the claim about the Taser being used after he had already surrendered on the ground, the spokesperson said the preliminary report suggested it was appropriate and within guidelines. The police officers were not wearing body cameras and the patrol car didn't have a dashcam, according to the Hollywood Police Department.

Car falls in sinkhole in flooded Hollywood street
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - After a storm flooded a street, a blue Toyota was stuck in a sinkhole Tuesday in Broward County's city of Hollywood. The impact was hard enough that the car's airbags went off inside of the car. The sinkhole was in front of a home and the Cathy & Bob Anderson Park at the intersection of Thomas Street and North 58th Avenue. The Hollywood Police Department shared two photographs on Twitter. City employees from the public works department and police officers responded.

A few blocks away at Liberty Street and 70th Terrace, Hollywood police officers surrounded a white van with a bullet hole near the passenger-side headlight. Officers first responded to a shooting along the 7000 blick of Liberty Street. Surveillance video shows a man shooting at a white van passing by, then running away.

Hollywood police find missing teenager
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police have found a 17-year-old boy who had been missing since Monday afternoon. Miranda Grossman, a spokeswoman for the Hollywood Police Department, said Janavis Louis was last seen riding a gray bicycle in the 2100 block of Roosevelt Street. He was wearing black pants with white stripes on the sides and holding a black shirt in his hand. Grossman described Janavis as an endangered person but did not elaborate.
Rescue responds to report of swimmer vanishing off Hollywood Beach
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – There were reports that a swimmer vanished on Friday evening off Hollywood Beach, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. Witnesses said both Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood fire rescue crews were searching off the N. Broadwalk between Johnson and Grant streets.
