Browns excuse Mayfield from camp, Watson situation expands

Deshaun Watson’s complex legal situation has the Cleveland Browns in limbo and unclear about the quarterback’s immediate future.

Slap Of A White Supremacist Not A Black Man

By John JohnsonWill Smith’s slap of Chris Rock, viewed worldwide, was not that of an angry Black man. It was more reminiscent of a white supremacist knowing that he had the right to slap, spit upon or even lynch a Black man if he felt the slightest disrespect. You see, an angry Black man would’ve punched him in the face and dared him to get up, rather than sashay back to his seat and hurl expletives towards the real man still standing. By the way, this isn’t the first time a Black person has received the proverbial slap of white supremacy. Now, the real crux of the matter, you shouldn’t be able to slap anyone, let alone have it done by a Black person to another Black person, on National TV and not face any consequences.

Fear of a Mad Man

By John JohnsonNearly nine decades ago, former President Franklin D. Roosevelt uttered these famous words, “The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself.” Now, it’s not just fear, but rather it’s fear of a “Mad Man,” Putin. Rather than enter the war earlier against Hitler, another mad man, America’s isolationists believed it was a dispute between foreign nations and it was best to avoid offending either side. Now, America and all of civilization must again watch live on TV, in living color, Putin, a mad man, massacre men, women, children, and babies waiting to be birthed. Remember, the German people and German Commanders allowed Hitler, a mad man, to lead them to their destruction. Are Putin’s nuclear threats not those of a suicidal mad man?

Saint Peter's University quietly savors OT win over Kentucky

Everyone's buzzing about tiny Saint Peter’s University after its stunning NCAA Tournament upset of Kentucky, except maybe Saint Peter’s University.

Kim Potter’s Punishment Meant to Dehumanize Black People

By John Johnson liIt shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone in America and especially to Black people that ex-officer Kim Potter received a heartfelt sentencing for murdering Daunte Wright. Former police officer Kim Potter’s conviction by a mostly white jury, for first and second degree manslaughter for killing Daunte Wright came as a surprise. Doesn’t Judge Chu know the difficulty of being Black in America? Also, Potter’s handgun weighs over two pounds white her taser weighed under a pound. Once again, America dearly shows that racism is systemic, and it continues to blatantly dehumanize the lives of Black people.

Republicans Epitomize Trump As Their Goliath

This starve also unveils how Saul, the King, who should’ve defended his people against Goliath, was unfit to rule. David, with just a mere sling, launched a single stone striking Goliath, who stood eight feet, between his eyes and killing him. Who would have thought that during the 21st Century Republicans would epitomize Trump as their Goliath and threaten to destroy America’s democracy? Sadly, just as Saul wasn’t fit to lead his people, Republicans have chosen Trump, an unfit narcissistic former president, as their leader. Republicans must heed their undemocratic ways because a mighty lesson can be learned from the biblical story of Goliath.

AP source: Browns' Mayfield still out, Mullens starting QB

A person familiar with the Cleveland Browns' situation tells The Associated Press that quarterback Baker Mayfield didn't clear COVID-19 testing in time to be activated and play Monday, so third-stringer Nick Mullens will start against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Republicans Lunacy Returned To Lamp of Common Sense

Their lunacy poses a greater threat to our Democracy than COVID-19. Consequently, Republican lunacy is driving them to even contemplate committing murder. Republican Senators and members of their base are threatening to kill fellow Democratic Senators and anyone who opposes Trump. Republicans and their base feel threaten and are determined to maintain power and their belief in white supremacy at any costs. The people’s mighty vote constitutes the powerful antidote that will protect our Democracy and return Republicans’ lunacy to the lamp of common sense as well as crush any an all insurrections.

Disillusionment, Not Guilt

By John Johnson, IIThe Afghanistan bungled withdrawal has appeared to cause immeasurable guilt for Americans sympathetic with the plight of Afghans caught in harm’s way of the Taliban, especially amongst a core of military veterans. Now, more than ever, it’s vital to protect our citizenry, especially our veterans from debilitating guilt. Consequently, disillusionment, not guilt should be the expressed feelings. A soldier trained to shoot a gun acquires a skill, not courage. Remember, Americans must avoid accepting guilt caused by disillusionment.

Zoos Flourish and Cities Become Jungles

By John JohnsonIt’s a sad commentary that Zoos in America are managed far better than many of our cities. But far too often cities like Chicago and Baltimore have experienced serious social problems. Also, no zoo should ever be safer for its animals than cities are for people. Why animals in zoos don’t risk being killed when their cages are cleaned? But in America, zoos flourish and cities become like jungles for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian people because of an unfair criminal justice system.

Patriots, Bucs among those making biggest waves so far

(AP Photo/Adam Hunger, File)Bill Belichick never was one to spent wildly in free agency. Whether by trade, free agency or re-signings, the group brings a good mix of offense, defense and special teams. In addition to keeping Von Miller, Justin Simmons and Shelby Harris, Paton filled his biggest defensive pothole by signing free agent cornerbacks Ronald Darby and Kyle Fuller. FUTURE CONSIDERATIONSThe Lions didn’t do much in free agency but nobody in Detroit should be bothered. The Lions are focused on rebuilding through the draft after sending QB Matthew Stafford to the Rams and then letting star wide receiver Kenny Golladay walk in free agency.

Nobody comes for free in NFL free agency that begins Monday

Regardless, on Monday, two days before the NFL's 2021 business year begins, the 32 teams and agents for the players will be making deals. “Legal tampering, and tampering is illegal? AdOf course, free agency always is a buyer-beware situation. AdVoila: Lavonte David, a key linebacker, was re-signed, and several other key guys in the title run could be back. “We do have some money from a cap standpoint that we can spend; but again, it’s an interesting year.

Saving America’s souls

By John Johnson, IIPresident Biden has spoken reverently about pursuing a mission of saving America’s soul. Consequently, saving America’s soul is not an easy task nor one that probably can ever be completely achieved. Most importantly, before America’s soul can be resuscitated, not to mention saved, the deadly infectiousness of white supremacy must be driven into remission. However, it is my reverent and fervent belief that President Biden possesses the leadership skills and moral convictions to resuscitate America’s soul, before it can be saved. In the words of our benevolent President, Joe Biden, “There isn’t anything that we can’t achieve if we work together,” which must include, Saving America’s soul!

President Biden Not Deterred By Reverence of Bipartisanship

Consequently, for the first two years of his presidency, with or without Republicans’ support, President Biden can address many of America’s immediate problems. President Biden, before his election, spoke reverently about how much he would reach across the isles to garner the support of Republicans. For example, President Biden and his administration have already calculated that 1.9 trillion dollars are needed to literally rescue people and the economy from the ravages of COVID-19. But, President Biden, as a pragmatic politician, will continue to operate with an outstretched arm and open hand to Republicans. President Biden has clearly demonstrated that his first 100, days in Office will be very productive.

Rams' defense struggles with injury hindering Donald

Without Donald in peak form, the NFL’s top defense simply couldn’t slow down the league’s highest-scoring offense. The Green Bay Packers scored on their first five series and beat the Rams 32-18 in the NFC divisional playoffs. “I love Aaron Donald,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. Yet this heavyweight matchup between the Packers’ offense and the Rams’ defense was more like a mismatch for much of the day. You have to defend every inch as far as laterally.”The Rams also had some uncharacteristic mistakes on defense to help Green Bay out.

Rodgers, Packers beat Rams 32-18 to reach NFC title game

Rodgers threw two touchdown passes and also ran for a score as the top-seeded Green Bay Packers beat the Los Angeles Rams 32-18 in an NFC divisional playoff game Saturday. The Packers didn't allow any sacks despite playing without injured All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari, while Green Bay sacked Jared Goff four times. Rodgers called the Packers' offensive linemen “the stars of the game tonight.”“Definitely not happy,” Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers said. For Green Bay, Dillon injured his quadriceps when he fumbled. UP NEXTThe Rams' season is over.

Republican Senator Secessionists

By John JohnsonThe Republican party has abandoned its oath to the Constitution and therefore, should officially be recognized as the Republican Secessionist Party. Republican Senators, rather than honor their oath to the Constitution, refused to convict and remove Trump from office after he was impeached by the House of Representatives on December 18, 2019. Senator Collins stated that she refused to vote to convict Trump because the impeachment should’ve taught him a lesson. Regrettably, our most dangerous enemies of democracy are Republican Senator Secessionists, white supremacists, radical evangelic groups, and 70 million right wing voters who voted for a demagogue. Indigenous, Black, and Brown people continue to suffer unjust cruelties at the hands of this present government, which is led by Trump and the Republican Senator Secessionists.

LA Rams' top-ranked defense still rolling as playoffs loom

He might find a moment after the Rams (10-6) finish their playoff run, which begins Saturday at Seattle. But Rams fans already appreciate a defense that topped the NFL in several important categories and excelled at nearly everything during a remarkable season. 1 in total yards allowed, yards passing allowed, passing TDs allowed, first downs allowed and points allowed while becoming the Rams' first top-ranked NFL defense in decades. “We're proud of the way we've competed,” Staley said Tuesday as the Rams began preparations for their trip to Seattle. ... LT Andrew Whitworth has a shot to return this week after tearing ligaments in his knee during the Rams' first meeting with Seattle in November.

Trump’s Defiance and Ignorance of COVID-19 May Cause His Political and Physical Demise

He’s facing a possible horrible death or long recovery having contracted COVIV-19, because of his defiance and ignorance. Undoubtedly, again, because of defiance and ignorance, he traveled to a fund raiser and other public functions knowing he had been exposed to COVID-19. After thinking that the President and our Nation was safe because he was hospitalized, he managed to raise his level of defiance and ignorance. Think voters, the president, who is infected with COVID-19, wanted to do a drive-by. Sadly, this president may need help beyond what he’s receiving for COVID-19, and it’s more obvious than ever.
