A group of fishermen in the Florida Keys got a big surprise while fishing off Long Key.

Deputies temporarily closed the Overseas Highway in both directions on Tuesday near Marathon.

Sources tell Local 10 News that 16 Cuban migrants were taken into custody on Tuesday.

Cuban migrants repatriated by the Coast Guard

MIAMI – The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing boater in the Florida Keys. Greg Thomson, 75, was last seen on a 19-foot skiff near Long Key. The Coast Guard said in a news release that Thomson was reported missing about 8:40 p.m. Sunday. According to the Coast Guard, Thomson and a friend were towing the skiff when their 36-foot boat broke down. The Coast Guard is searching for Thomson by air and water.
