MIA expects busy holiday travel week despite coronavirus pandemic
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Officials at Miami International Airport expect a busy holiday travel week despite the risks of the coronavirus pandemic. Miami-Dade officials estimate about 82,000 air travelers passed through MIA on Sunday — making it the busiest travel day there since the pandemic’s impact began in March. Peru is among the countries that require a negative coronavirus test result that is not more than 72 hours old. They also had to wait for a few days to receive the results, which Peru requires for re-entry during the pandemic. Pardo said she and her family tested negative, but had they tested positive, they would have had to reschedule their flights.

Nurses robbed during visit to South Florida to treat coronavirus
WILTON MANORS, FLa. Two traveling nurses here to help save lives from the coronavirus got a disturbing welcome to South Florida. They say the bathroom window of their rental home in Wilton Manors was ripped out, and the place was trashed and robbed. It definitely makes me angry, says one of the nurses named Mia, who only wanted to be identified by her first name. Investigators have also yet to determine if the nurses were targeted, or followed, or if this was just a random robbery. I would also advise other traveling nurses to make sure they have security in the places that theyre staying. If you have any information that can help Wilton Manors police in their investigation, call crime stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Sneak peek: Coronavirus prompts changes at MIA
At Miami International Airport, there are plenty of changes in the works. There are over 80 airlines serving MIA to approximately 150 destinations around the globe. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, MIA like others around the world are not as busy. We saw a passenger at MIA wearing head to toe PPE, but he won’t be alone — many fliers will be taking their personal protection quite seriously. But this is what being 95 percent down in passenger traffic looks like.

We are expecting in the days right after the travel bans are lifted, people will be arriving up to four hours earlier," Nigam said. FUTURE OF FLYING: With empty terminals at @iflymia, some industry experts are proposing new #covid screening policies for airlines. Just like after 9/11, a lot of the airlines will have their work cut out for them that flying is once again safe, Nigam said.
