That’s according to several people familiar with the situation, including a club member who received a phone call about the closure Friday. A receptionist at the Mar-a-Lago club confirmed the news, saying it was closed until further notice, but declined to comment further. A person familiar with club operations said that, out of an abundance of caution, the club had partially closed a section “for a short period of time” and quarantined some of its workers. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the situation by name.

Man admits to smashing out windows of marked patrol car – A 29-year-old man is in jail after admitting to vandalizing a marked patrol car. According to Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the 2100 Block of North D Street in Lake Worth Beach about a vandalized PBSO car. Police found the back window of the patrol car smashed and other damages. The investigation led deputies to John-Smith Saint-Eloi, who admitted to the crime during an interview with police. He is facing charges for criminal mischief and damaging property worth $1,000 or more and another charge of damaging property over $200 and under $1,000.
Several FEMA-supported vaccination sites open in Miami-Dade

More than 2,000 doses will be administered there per day, 500 of which will be the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Texas rescue dogs make their way to South Florida
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – 78 dogs and puppies, many of them with a cough, arrived in Palm Beach County on Wednesday, where they will be in quarantine, after a long road trip. Many shelters and rescues in Texas were left without power and water after the winter storms last week, making it difficult to care for animals there. Staff from Big Dog Ranch Rescue say they received multiple calls from shelters, so they decided to help. They drove nearly 40 hours, stopping at one shelter and two rescues in the Dallas and Houston areas. I feel Texas would do the same for us,” said Lauree Simmons of Big Dog Ranch Rescue.

A permit was pulled Tuesday by Pyramid Builders for the “removal of existing helipad,” the only helipad in Palm Beach. Town Manager Kirk Blouin told the Palm Beach Daily News that keeping the helipad post-presidency was never an issue. In other news at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach had been looking into an agreement that Trump signed with the town, which regulated who could live at the resort.
Rod Stewart reaches plea deal for South Florida altercation
Defense attorneys said Friday that Stewart and his son, Sean Stewart, would not be going to trial for the altercation at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach on New Year's Day 2020, the South Florida SunSentinel r eported. AdProsecutors had no immediate announcement in the case, but did say Saturday that plea deal negotiations are ongoing. Rod Stewart punched Dixon in his “left rib cage area” with a closed fist, a police report said. It was updated on Jan. 30, 2021, to correct that prosecutors and defense lawyers have not announced a plea deal. While defense lawyers say details for a plea detail have been worked out, prosecutors have made no announcement though they confirm plea deal negotiations are ongoing.
Palm Beach considers options as Trump remains at Mar-a-Lago
Town Manager Kirk Blouin said in an email Thursday that Palm Beach is examining its options and the matter might be discussed at the town council's February meeting. Trump and former first lady Melania Trump changed their residency from New York City to Mar-a-Lago in 2019. Last month, it issued a statement saying, “There is no document or agreement in place that prohibits President Trump from using Mar-A-Lago as his residence.” Trump owns two other homes near Mar-a-Lago. According to 1993 Palm Beach Post articles, Trump attorney Paul Rampell told the town council that if the agreement were approved, Trump would be treated like any other member. Before he became president, Trump clashed frequently with the town and its mostly staid residents over the club’s operation.

NYC to terminate Trump contracts after Capitol insurrection

De Blasio had said earlier that the city was examining its legal options to end the Trump contracts. Removing the Trump name from the rinks, carousel and golf course won't erase him from New York City. He will still operate Trump Tower on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue and the Trump International Hotel on Central Park West.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – A state representative in Palm Beach is calling on the local government to fine and close President Donald Trump’s private club for violating the county’s mask mandate after a New Year’s Eve party. Florida State Rep. Omari Hardy (D-West Palm Beach), wrote to the Assistant County Administrator of Palm Beach County Todd Bonlarron, according to numerous media outlets, including WPBF-TV. And another Tweet that said: “If I can wear a mask at my own wedding, partygoers at Mar-a-Lago can wear a mask on New Year’s Eve. The County’s mask mandate applies to all businesses in Palm Beach County. MIAMI – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for a portion of South Florida Wednesday, including Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The flood watch will remain in effect through 8 p.m.A flood advisory has also been issued for Miami-Dade and Broward through 11 a.m. Thursday. A portion of the Middle Keys is also under a flood advisory until 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
