Crash involving vehicle and several bicyclists closed MacArthur Causeway for several hours
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A crash on the MacArthur Causeway sent one person to the hospital. According to Miami Beach police, a driver in a motorized three-wheeler struck four bicyclists on the sidewalk Monday afternoon. One woman was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with a head injury. The westbound lanes of the causeway were shut down for several hours as officers investigated. There has been no update provided on the injured woman’s health.
Driver killed after car splits in 2 in northwest Miami-Dade crash
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A car was split in half Monday morning during a crash in northwest Miami-Dade, leaving the driver dead. According to Miami-Dade police, a white Infiniti was traveling west on Northwest 82nd Street when the driver lost control and struck a pole. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel extricated the driver and took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead. Sky 10 was above the area of Northwest 82nd Street near Fifth Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m. as one half of the car was laying against a pole, while the other was down the street and facing the opposite direction. Miami-Dade police put markers on the ground to try and map out what the car collided with and what path it took before coming to a destructive end.
Police: Woman struck and killed in early morning hit-and-run in Miami
MIAMI, Fla. – An early morning hit-and-run crash left a woman in her 30s dead, according to Miami police. Officers responded to the scene along Northwest 79th Street and Second Court around 3:45 a.m. where they found the woman unresponsive. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where she died. The driver took off and has not been located, police say.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two died after they were wounded in a shooting on Friday at an apartment complex in Miami-Dade County’s Gladeview neighborhood, police said. Officers with the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Northside District responded to the Lincoln Fields Apartments at the corner of Northwest 20th Avenue and Northwest 64th Street. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where a doctor pronounced him dead, police said. A woman who was also injured in the shooting turned up at JMH’s Ryder Trauma Center, where a doctor also pronounced her dead, police said. 4 children and 1 adult injured in Opa-locka crash
OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Four children and an adult were injured in a crash Monday afternoon in Opa-locka, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed. Two of the children had just minor injuries but the adult and two other children were taken to Ryder Trauma Center, authorities said. The ages of the children have not been released. Burn victims of small plane crash remain hospitalized in Miami
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Two adults and two children who survived a small fiery plane crash in Broward County remained at Jackson Memorial Hospital on Friday night in Miami-Dade County. The victims, who include a police officer, were under the care of University of Miami Health System physicians at the Ryder Trauma Center’s specialized Miami Burn Center. Relatives said the police officer was offduty when he was piloting the SOCATA TB10 Tobago, a four-seat, all-metal low wing aircraft. Officials said this was the fourth small plane to crash in the area this year. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the plane crash.
Police ID man killed in shooting at Opa-locka auto body shop
OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Jose E. Alvarez Martinez, 47, was the man killed Monday afternoon in a shooting outside an auto body shop in Opa-locka, authorities say. Martinez was taken by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died from his injuries. Another man shot was taken by ambulance to Aventura Medical Center. The boss said the second man shot worked at a car shop nearby and was hit in the leg. If a tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.

Bizarre-acting man at NW Miami-Dade café shoots gun into air injuring 2 people
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – The owner of a Northwest Miami-Dade restaurant reportedly tackled a gunman who shot into the air injuring two people at the Gran Parada Café and Restaurant. She said he was swaying back and forth and acting “bizarrely.” That’s when he pulled out a gun and fired into the air, the woman said. It was then that the restaurant owner jumped up from the bar and tackled the gunman at the door. Miami-Dade police said one person struck was in the ankle and a bullet grazed the other victim. Two people were seen being taken inside Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A deadly crash Wednesday night on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County caused a traffic mess for the rush-hour crowd. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved a gray SUV and a motorcycle.
