MIAMI – Police are searching for a man who they said escaped from a Miami hospital while in custody. That man, identified as Leskeil Richards, was injured during an arrest on Sunday in Miami. He was back in the hospital on Monday after he suffered a seizure, his relatives said. According to police, Richards found the right moment to run away from an officer who was guarding him late Monday afternoon at Jackson Memorial Hospital. “How did this happen?” Leshia Richards, Leskeil’s sister said.

Man fatally shot after confronting 2 people about vehicle burglary

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Surveillance video captured a fatal shooting that occurred on Valentine’s Day in Fort Lauderdale. According to Fort Lauderdale police, the victim was shot around 4:25 p.m. Sunday outside his girlfriend’s apartment building in the 1100 block of Northwest Third Avenue. Surveillance video shows the victim, identified as Harry Garcon, 31, of Miami-Dade County, speaking with two males in the street just before he was shot by one of them. Loved ones and the congregation are now mourning his death Boyd’s death after he was killed in a drive-by shooting outside The Village Flea Market and Mall in Northwest Miami-Dade Thursday. Miami-Dade Police said Boyd was walking by a shoe store when an argument between a woman and a group of men broke out. A second group of men approached as the argument heated up and gunfire erupted and the pastor was shot, according to the Associated Press. Police are investigating but believe that Boyd was caught in the crossfire of gunshots from the argument. MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A pastor died Thursday after a shooting that happened right as two Local 10 News journalists were reporting live at The Village Flea Market & Mall in Miami-Dade County’s West Little River neighborhood. Terrell Forney, a reporter, and Nick Lupo, a photojournalist, were doing a live report on the drive-by shooting that left 7-year-old Alana Washington dead when shots rang out. “I’m waiting to wrap up the package before we go live again and all of a sudden I hear all of these shots,” Forney said. “He was wearing a white shirt and he started shooting and shooting and shooting,” Lupo said. Miami-Dade police officers said the man, who is a local pastor, was the victim in the shooting.

MIAMI, Fla. – While Local 10′s Terrell Forney and his videographer Nick Lupo were reporting live outside of the Village Flea Market and Mall in West Little River, they narrowly missed being caught in the middle of a drive by shooting. “We were reporting outside of the flea market at Northwest 79th Street and 27th Avenue," Forney said. That’s when, just towards the end of his 6:06 p.m. report on Thursday, he said multiple shots were fired from a car. (See the raw video above)Quinton Dunbar left Broward County Jail Sunday after spending the night, then appearing in front of a Broward County judge in a virtual court hearing in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday. Local 10′s cameras caught up with Dunbar but he didn’t want to talk to the media. “Do you have anything to say to your fans or your team?”When media caught up with DeAndre Baker, he took off running. His bond totaled $200,000, as he was charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, Baker took off running. Dunbar and Baker were granted standard pre-trial release, meaning they can not travel outside of the state and must surrender any weapons or firearms.

MIAMI – There's been plenty of City Hall drama in Miami following the sudden resignation of the city manager. Local 10 News reporter Terrell Forney attended Thursday’s city commission meeting as both topics were discussed. Ortiz came under fire after telling commissioners at a recent meeting that he identifies himself as a black male. Carollo also asked at Thursday’s meeting where City Manager Emilio Gonzalez has been. Gonzalez recently resigned following accusations from Carollo that the city manager abused his power by doctoring documents to get a work permit on his home.

Hollywood, Broward County leaders continue dispute about where to place new radio tower

Leaders from both Broward County and the city of Hollywood agree that new equipment must be erected in east Hollywood, but they differ on where. You don't need to build a tower in West Lake Park," Hollywood Commissioner Caryl Shuham said. So this should've been done years ago," Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine said. Doing that would make the technology unstable and cost more money to maintain down the road, so county commissioners voted it down weeks ago. She said Broward County commissioners will vote on a finanlized version of the agreement next Tuesday.
