2 killed in crash in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two people were killed and another three were injured Wednesday in a crash in Pompano Beach, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.

Keyla Concepcion, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office, said a man driving a Mercedes broadsided an Acura around 5:30 p.m. as the Acura's driver made a left turn onto the 3300 block of Atlantic Boulevard.

Two older couples were traveling in the Acura. One of the female passengers in the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene. The other woman in the car was taken to Northwest Medical Center in Margate, but she later died of injuries, Concepcion said.

The two men in the Acura were transported to Broward Health North. The driver of the Mercedes was also transported to Broward Health North. Concepcion did not disclose the extent of their injuries.
