Truck carrying crushed cars loses load on Florida's Turnpike ramp to I-595

Traffic backed up for miles in area

DAVIE, Fla. – A car carrier lost its load Thursday afternoon on a ramp connecting Florida's Turnpike and Interstate 595.

The crushed vehicles that the flatbed truck was carrying spilled onto the turnpike's southbound off-ramp to I-595, blocking both lanes.

There were no injuries, but traffic delays were reported on I-595 for about six miles all the way to Hollywood Boulevard.

A crane truck was being used to place the crushed cars back on the truck.

The Florida Highway Patrol did not know how long the ramp would be blocked.
