36-year-old pedestrian killed in North Lauderdale crash, police say

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies investigate fatal crash


NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The family of a 36-year-old man was in mourning Friday after a driver ran him over in North Lauderdale. 

Broward Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Timothy Couture. 

He died after the driver of a 2013 Hyundai Genesis struck him  on State Road 7 near Southwest 12 Street, according to the BSO report. 

Deputies identified the driver as Kirshna Ramnarine, 23, who told investigators he had the green light when he hit Couture on Thursday afternoon. 

North Lauderdale Fire Rescue took Couture to Broward Health North, where hospital staff pronounced him dead. 

Officials, who are still investigating the crash, believe Couture was impaired.
