Snow in Atlanta prompts flight cancellations

A winter storm bringing snow to Atlanta prompted flight cancellations Friday night at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit were allowing costumers to rebook their Atlanta flights. 

After Delta Airlines canceled the 11:45 a.m., 3:12 p.m., 4:08 p.m, the airline also canceled the 5:55 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. flights from FLL to Atlanta. Southwest Airlines canceled the 6 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. flights.  

According to FlightAware 1,821 flights were canceled today. Delta, the dominant carrier in Atlanta, reported about 21 percent of their flights were canceled. At FLL, FlightAware reported 19 percent of the flights were delayed and 2 percent were canceled.
