Cold temps to finally hit South Florida

Temperatures will struggle to reach 70 for a few days

MIAMI – Old man winter is finally getting around to paying a visit to South Florida.

After ignoring the lower end of the Sunshine State for almost a year, the temps will dip dramatically over the weekend, with the temps dipping into the low 50's.

In fact, you may even want to get out a couple extra sweaters as it'll be the coldest it's been in South Florida since Feb. 27 of last year.

The semi-chill will hit the area on Sunday afternoon, with the highs only expected to reach 70 degrees, if that.

The cold snap will continue through Monday and most of Tuesday, before things get back to "normal" with highs around 77 degrees.
