Florida International University faculty, staff can return Thursday

Green Library will be opened throughout weekend for students, faculty, staff

MIAMI – After its initial assessment of damages from Hurricane Irma was completed, officials at Florida International University have decided to reopen according to a staggered schedule.

Researchers and lab technicians will be permitted to go back to their labs on Wednesday. They’re also asked to report any damages found to facilities right away at 305-348-4600.

By noon Thursday, faculty and staff will beable to come back to the university.

And by Monday, all classes – including online courses—will resume, but the official determination on this date is still pending.

Over the weekend, the Green Library at the Modesto Maidique Campus will be open to students, faculty and staff from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those going to the library, which has electricity, Wi-Fi and computers, must show valid university identification.
